On the 2024 parliamentary elections, Faraya stressed that the elections are a constitutional entitlement and holding the elections is proof of the government’s confidence in itself and its citizens in implementing all constitutional entitlements, noting that the Ministry of Interior is working on preparing voter lists to be ready before May 26, to proceed with the rest of the procedures set by the Independent Elections Commission.

Faraya described the 2024 elections as qualitative, as it includes for the first time a national party list, and all licensed parties have equal opportunities, and the greatest burden is on the citizen to choose a representative who expresse
s the opinions of his constituents.

Four Palestinians were martyred, and others injured Saturday following an Israeli airstrike on Khuza’a town east of Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip.

According to local sources in Gaza quoted by Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), the Israeli occupation fighter jets bombed a conglomeration of Palestinians in Khuza’a, resulting in the martyrdom of four and injuring others.

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) organized the “Teach Me” festival for students with disabilities who represented seven model and primary schools for boys and girls.

The festival was intended to include students with disabilities in schools and communities, in addition to developing their educational and physical skills.

Addressing the festival, Head of the Physical Education Department at the MoEHE Salman Al Hazmi noted the MoEHE’s pioneering role in empowering students with disabilities. He highlighted their rights as active members of society, along with the activities that help them engage in all activities.

The event lasted for one day at the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara and featured diverse sports, patrimonial and national shows and were concluded with an art tableau titled “Here is Qatar,” which was formed by all participating schools in a display expressing love for homeland and belonging.

The festival began as a project in 2022 to provide theoretical and practic
al programs and educational workshops. It aimed to train teachers to deal with students with disabilities and will run for three years until 2025.

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), in collaboration with Batrouniyat Association, opened the Market of Douma village located north of Lebanon after it was restored as part of the State of Qatar’s commitment to promoting sustainable development to achieve stability and economic growth in the Arab region.

Held at the restored market, the opening ceremony was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Lebanon Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Deputy Director-General for Project Development at QFFD Sultan Ahmed Al Asiri, alongside HE Minister of Tourism in the Lebanese caretaker government Eng. Walid Nassar.

Douma was declared one of the best tourism villages for 2023, in recognition of its rich cultural patrimony and tourism potential. And a commemorative plaque was unveiled, positioning Douma as one of the pioneering attractive destinations for the cultural and patrimonial tourism.

The restoration of this market signifies the concerted efforts of maintaining heritage and economic
development for communities, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 8 that primarily focuses on promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all. The market is poised to nurture the local labour, offer new job opportunities, and enhance the population’s income.

The project is a milestone within the unwavering efforts dedicated to reviving heritage and economy in this Lebanese village that will hopefully be a hub for trade and tourism, reflecting the always rich heritage and promising future.

HE Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem, met with HE Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, as part of his visit to Montenegro.

HE the Minister of Endowments also met with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Filip Ivanovic, and Speaker of the Parliament in Montenegro Andrija Mandic, during which they discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and relations between the two countries.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar (non-resident) to the Republic of Montenegro Faris bin Roumi Al Nuaimi attended the meetings.

The number of casualties due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza enclave since October 7 has risen to 35,386 martyrs and 79,366 injured, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Saturday.

The Ministry of Health added that the Israeli occupation soldiers have committed nine massacres against families in the enclave, resulting in 83 martyrs and 105 injured, highlighting that this toll is what reached Gaza’s hospitals.

It stated that dozens of martyrs’ bodies are still laying on streets with paramedics and civil defense personnel being unable to retrieve them.
