Passionate and creative e-learning solutions professional.

Over 15 years experience delivering high quality, effective e-learning.

I have had the opportunity to work on and oversee a diverse range of projects, from small-scale initiatives with limited budgets to large-scale projects with budgets of up to £2M. I work with organisations to help improve employee performance, upskill their workforce and change behaviours through high-end digital experiences.

With over 15 years experience in e-learning and with a strong background in learning and design and a keen eye for detail, I am able to develop e-learning experiences that are both impactful and visually stunning. Whether I am leading a team or collaborating with clients one-on-one, I am committed to delivering exceptional results and exceeding expectations.

With a good understanding of the latest trends and technologies in e-learning, I am always exploring new ways to innovate and push the boundaries of what is possible.

    Gen Plus

    Gen+ is an innovative personal development, leadership and meta-skills programmes for young learners and their leaders.

    It is funded by the Peter Vardy group and targeted at schools across the UK. The programme consists of over 24 learning modules across 6 units.

    Each unit focuses on a specific leadership skill: Initiative, Collaboration, Communication, Resilience, Leadership and Organisation.

    Modules make use of gamification, 3D characters, bespoke interactives, video and animations.

    Unipart

    Unipart needed a trackable and cost-effective digital solution that would engage the learner and reduce the demands placed upon their existing face-to-face training model.

    Leading a team of 5, we delivered a stimulating high-end solution that exceeded Unipart’s expectations. It enabled them to deliver a highly interactive, flexible and trackable digital experience, using their own LRS, compatible with XAPI standards.

    Deloitte

    I led a team of 6 - 2 developers, an animator, 2 learning designers and a designer in creating a series of compliance based and mandatory training for Deloitte staff.

    We created a range of materials from bespoke HTML5 elearning modules through to games based solutions and high end animations.

    I worked alongside subject matter experts, stakeholders and members of the executive team throughout and managed both timelines and budgets, ensuring each solution was delivered on time and within budget.

    RNLI

    The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is a charity that saves lives at sea. Their activities include lifeboat search and rescue, lifeguards, water safety education and flood rescue.

    In 2019, the RNLI saved 220 lives and aided 9,379 people.

    The RNLI got in touch  on a cost and time-saving journey. They wanted to convert much of their 100% face-to-face training into blended courses that placed less of a burden on their training centres and experienced volunteer crewmembers. Specifically, they wanted to work with us on their Command training for lifeboat crew.

    Then 2020 arrived, and the COVID-19 pandemic changed the world. Lockdown meant that no in-person training could take place at all. The RNLI desperately needed to continue training volunteers to continue to safely respond to emergencies and keep the public safe.

    The RNLI’s blended approach towards updating the course included webinars, shortened on-site practical training, and digital theory. Working closely with the RNLI to convert dry, regulatory guidance into 26 bite-sized 3D videos that showed the theory in action. These ‘rules of the road’ laid the foundation for practical on-site training supplemented by insightful webinars.

    Our videos involved:

    • Over 300 000 frames;
    • Around 100 gigs of Data;
    • Approximately 45 minutes of animation; and
    • About 70 days of rendering time.


    The new blended course had a huge impact. The RNLI were able to train and send out their crews, crew members could finally understand and apply previously-impenetrable regulations, and the landmark project created a new model for practical training moving forward.

  • Drone Operators E-Learning Module

    NATS

    NATS are the UK's leading provider of air traffic control services. NATS handles 2.5 million flights and 250 million passengers travelling in UK airspace in a typical year. Outside of the UK, they offer services in parts of Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

    An increase in the professional and amateur piloting of drones meant that NATS broadened their focus and provided training to these pilots. The continued growth in the popularity of piloting drones saw an increase in demand for the course.

    However, the time and financial costs to learners combined with the costs of running the course meant that NATS could not meet this new demand.

    I worked with NATS to transform their drone pilot training from a three-day experience into a blended course that was flexible, streamlined, and cost-effective for clients.

    We spent time with NATS thoroughly analysing their needs and gaining input from their learners before designing a solution. This work resulted in creating two solutions: a blended course for professional drone pilots and an eLearning course for amateur drone pilots.

    The blended course included an eLearning course and a one-day practical experience at a NATS training centre.

    I streamlined content around the course's common pain points, difficulties and outcomes. This led to simulations and scenarios and the exclusion of non-essential content. Additionally, I created 2D and 3D animations to show theory in practice and model what ‘good’ looked like for drone pilots. After release, learner enrolment increased 50%, pass rates increased to 100%, and learners gave glowing feedback on the course.

  • Procurement E-Learning Course

    Aggreko

    Aggreko needed a supplier to quickly build an elearning solution as part of their procurement training program.

    Initially Aggreko requested a single learning module. However, after some initial meetings and a review of the learning objectives it became apparant that the learners would be better served with 6 smaller bite size solutions.

    We agreed to create - 3 short e-learning modules, a software training module, a procurement process tool and an introductory video.

    The solution was built in Articulate Storyline and source files were supplied to Aggreko to allow them to update the modules in the future.

  • Game

    City of Glasgow College

    In 2017, the construction industry suffered from a negative image, particularly among young and diverse people. To change this, CITB and CoGC commissioned a high-tech, educational 3D game to attract a diverse young workforce.

    I worked closely with both organisations to develop a challenging, engaging and modern game that appealed to the target audience.

    In Construction Manager, players set up and manage their own construction companies. Players make business-related decisions and benefit from them or face the consequences of bad choices – as in life.

    The client formally launched the game on Windows, Apple and Android tablets (and Microsoft Xbox consoles), and five months later, they registered over 100,000 players.

    Construction Manager was well received and praised by the industry partners, educators and young players alike.

    Abcam

    Abcam were looking for an outside-the-box, engaging but a practical digital solution that would ensure consistent, coherent and trackable training across the company.

    We delivered an innovative and stimulating experience hosted by five digital Guide characters. The expert Guides called in via a conferencing system, exchanged emails and instant messages, and set up practical, real-life scenario-based challenges and mockup interviews, which helped the learners put theory into practice.

    The step-by-step, interactive Recruitment Toolkit demo empowered hiring managers to use the tool correctly and confidently to conduct structured interviews that minimise the risk of unconscious bias and celebrate diverse talent.

    The core training came with downloadable takeaway resources, which the learners could consult as and when needed.

    The Booster module deployed around six months after the core training programme ensured better skill retention.

    All training modules were adaptable, translatable and SCORM/xAPI compliant, ensuring trackability and flexibility.

    Bentley

    Bentley requested a short e-learning module to demonstrate the features of its new limited edition Bentayga.

    The module was built in Storyline to allow Bentley to update and modify at a later date.

    Even though the module was built in Storyline I managed to create an immersive high end feel reflective of Bentleys brand by using rendered 3D and short engaging animations.
